Why use the Academic Program?

The academic program is a way for the universities to gain free access to our software in exchange for sharing information with AccuSoft and our user community on how they use VisiQuest. For classroom use, this means a write-up or copy of the syllabus that outlines how VisiQuest will help you teach your subject. For research use, a short write-up on the problem you are trying to solve by using VisiQuest.

If you would like to use VisiQuest to help enhance the classroom experience, or for your students to complete research projects that include data and image analysis, please email our sales department, or call: US and Canada 800-525-3577, International +1 508-351-9092.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  Do I qualify for the program?
A:
In order to qualify for the free academic program, you must be a professor who will use VisiQuest to teach the course, or have a professor who will act as a sponsor for your non-profit academic research project.

Q: How long does the program last?
A:
Professors and students will each be given a license that is valid for 12 months from the date the professor signs up for the program.

For example, if you teach a course on machine vision in the Fall and Spring semesters, your students in the Fall semester will receive a license valid until one year from September,  the students in the Spring semester will receive licenses valid for one year from January.  Extensions are available on a case-by-case basis.

Q: How many licenses are available for each class?
A:
Your license seat count will match your course enrollment number. If you are performing independent research, the seat count will match the number of students named on the research abstract which you provide.

Q: How do I get Technical Support?
A:
Because the program is free, we require that the sponsoring professor or university sponsor acts as the single contact to our support team.  Students should refer all of their questions to the sponsor, who in turn contacts our support team with issues they can not answer.

Q: Which platforms are supported in the Academic Program?
A:
All of our supported platforms are part of the program.
