| ActiveX Security Update - August 4, 2009 |
A Microsoft Security Advisory 973882, published on July 28, 2009, indicates that some ActiveX components that are built using the Microsoft Active Template Library can be exploited in Internet Explorer by web-based attacks designed to breach a computer’s security. An immediate fix for various versions of Internet Explorer is available as cumulative security update MS09-034, described in Microsoft Knowledge Base 977260. The update for each specific Windows system depends on the versions of the operating system and Internet Explorer in use. Since some Accusoft Pegasus products include ActiveX components that could be accessed in this manner, we will soon be making updates for key components available to our customers. Please contact Support if you have immediate concerns about this security issue. Accusoft Pegasus has a long history of responsive support for problems resulting from platform security issues as they were discovered. We will publish the latest information here as it becomes available. You may wish to bookmark this page to obtain details on how to obtain updates for your specific components. |
