Powerful Image Processing

Rely on the most complete and latest set of document and photo processing effects in the marketplace. From our advanced ImageClean document enhancement capability to brand new photo processing functionality, ImageGear has what you need.
Area Detection and Processing
Area detection functions allow you to detect an area in the image, using a predefined or custom pixel checking method.
Color Reduction
Color reduction functions result in an image with fewer colors than the original, even if the bit depth is not changed. There are a number of color reduction methods for example, dithering, halftone, etc.
Color Promotion
Color promotion functions increase the bit depth, or number of bits per pixel, of an image. The color of each pixel is retained. ImageGear provides a function that handles promotion to any bit depth from any bitdepth.
Contrast Alteration
Contrast alteration functions operate by altering the range of pixel intensities that occur in your image, or by redistributing the occurrence frequency of the pixel intensities.
Image Transformation
Image transformation functions result in a mathematical algorithm applied to transform each pixel to a new location or value. Rotation is a good example of a simple image transformation.
Image Analysis
ImageGear provides a histogram-generating function (and a related function to clear histogram bins) to assist you in image analysis. In addition, another function provides a count of the number of different colors in the specified rectangle of an image.
Red-Eye Removal
Red-eye removal removes the "red eye" effect in color images by converting the red color in the eye to the new specified color.
Region of Interest Processing
ImageGear provides functions to allow you to apply image processing and special effects functions on an arbitrary region of interest (ROI). You can specify a shape, such as ellipse, polygon or freehand, or a 1 bit mask for identifying which pixels to include/disclude from image processing algorithms.
Special Effects
Special effects are a group of image processing functions that modify the image to acheive a particular end result. The functions save development time by using one command versus hand-coding layers of image manipulations. Some of the functions are blur, diffuse, mosiac, pinch, solarize, etc.
Blending and Combining Images
These image processing functions combine data from two or more images, altering one with the result that it is a "blend" or other combination of the original images.
Image Correction
ImageGear provides several functions whose specific purpose is to correct an image's appearance for images that have been obtained by scanning text documents or graphical images. Correction functions inlcude despeckle and deskew.
Image Maintenance
These image processing functions perform image maintenance operations such as crop, resize, thumbnail creation, encryption, and decryption.
Mathematical Morphology
Mathematical morphology operators are based around a few simple mathematical concepts from set theory. The operators are particularly useful for the analysis of binary images and common usages include edge detection, noise removal, image enhancement and image segmentation.
