PEGASUS IMAGING EXPANDS PRODUCT LINE WITH IMAGXPRESS PHOTO |
| TAMPA, FL, August 24, 2004 - Pegasus Imaging Corporation today releases ImagXpress Photo, an imaging toolkit designed specifically for photo imaging software application developers. Advanced digital photo enhancement features and color management technology can be easily added to software applications. ImagXpress Photo is available as a Microsoft .NET component, a COM control, and a VCL, for integration within visual development environments. "ImagXpress Photo represents a bold step forward for Pegasus Imaging in the color photo imaging market. We have combined the power and ease of use of our popular ImagXpress development kit with exciting new features specific to the photo market," says Marc Brechwald, senior business development manager at Pegasus Imaging. "I think our customers will be very pleased with ImagXpress Photo's color management and advanced photo editing tools. Much of this technology was previously available only in our low-level C/C++ toolkits. With ImagXpress Photo, Pegasus Imaging has become more visible and accessible to a much larger photo imaging market." Color matching, color space conversion, and color proofing can be integrated into software applications using ImagXpress Photo. Color matching is delivered with an easy to use interface, allowing for easy matching of reflected and emitted colors to achieve professional color management. The toolkit supports monitor and printer profile selection, and can programmatically specify rendering intent. Color space conversion using ICC color profiles is offered, specifically CMYK to RGB and RGB to CMYK conversion for TIFF and JPEG images. End users will also be able to perform color proofing prior to printing. Powerful digital photo enhancement features can be integrated into software, including red eye removal, dust removal, scratch removal, color deskew, crop, rotate, EXIF tag editing, and more. Pegasus Imaging engineers enhanced low level auto color level and auto contrast algorithms to include in ImagXpress Photo. Photo collage layout and printing, multiple image scaling algorithms, advanced scrollbar, and auto size are also available. Using the red eye removal technology available through ImagXpress Photo, end users can set parameters including eye color, degree of eye glare reduction, and precision of selected area for removal of red. End users can set dust removal parameters such as speck size, light or dark specks, and smoothing adjustments.
