MICR Xpress SDK Released by Accusoft Pegasus |
| TAMPA, Fla. - August 13, 2009 - Accusoft Pegasus, recognized worldwide as the largest provider of imaging software development kits (SDKs), today announces the release of MICR Xpress. This specialized character recognition SDK enhances the Accusoft Pegasus line of imaging SDKs, and is valuable to developers of financial services software. Using MICR Xpress, an application can recognize MICR content from scanned images of checks and other documents. Software developers will use the MICR Xpress toolkit to recognize the 14 ISO-standard MICR E-13B characters. Developers configure a zone of the image to search for MICR content, and can parse the MICR lines into fields. The SDK provides confidence values for each character and field. MICR Xpress supports black and white, grayscale, or color images, and provides multiple image cleanup options including deskew, despeckle, border cropping, and image rotation. MICR Xpress includes ImagXpress Standard and TwainPRO for image manipulation, scanning, and cleanup features. MICR Xpress allows developers to build applications targeting both 64-bit and 32-bit Windows .NET architectures. The .NET components included with MICR Xpress are compiled as AnyCPU. MICR Xpress is optimized for use in Visual Studio 2005 and 2008, and is fully compliant for use in .NET Framework 2.0 and higher. MICR Xpress is also available as a 32-bit ActiveX for deployment on 32-bit or 64-bit CPUs as a 32-bit application. “As more and more workflows are based on scanned images of checks, with no access to the physical checks, we see new applications for MICR Xpress,” says Paul Firth, product manager at Accusoft Pegasus. “For example, MICR recognition can be used in systems made for cross-checking the data in standard X9.37 files, or for routing of check images.” MICR Xpress can also be used with the SmartZone SDK for a more complete OCR and ICR solution. More information on Accusoft Pegasus imaging software development kits can be found at www.accusoft.com. Full-featured trial versions of MICR Xpress are available for immediate download at www.accusoft.com/micrxpress.htm. Accusoft and Pegasus are registered trademarks and MICR Xpress is a trademark of Pegasus Imaging Corporation (DBA Accusoft Pegasus) in the United States and/or other countries.
