NetVue v4.1 for Thin-Client Image Viewing Upgraded by Pegasus Imaging

Java-based web document viewer is now available for demo and trial download.

TAMPA, Fla. - March 17, 2009 - Pegasus® Imaging Corporation, the world leader in digital imaging technology, today announces the release of version 4.1 of NetVue®, the client / server document image viewer. NetVue fulfills thin-client Java image viewer needs.

NetVue delivers powerful thin-client Java or ActiveX document viewing within a web browser, using the server to deliver the images. By rendering and processing files on the web server, NetVue sends only the image data required by the remote client. The result is high-speed display of TIFF documents, PDF files, JPEG images, CAD files, Microsoft Office documents, and more. End users can quickly view image files stored in a Document Management System (DMS). NetVue delivers easy access to documents and meets “thin client” technical requirements.

All NetVue customers with a current support agreement will receive this new version today. They will receive improvements to multi-server load balancing and multi-page caching. Multiple NetVue servers can now share the same image repositories, share SQL server databases for storing annotations, and balance the load among multiple concurrent ActiveX and Java clients. The addition of the multi-page caching feature allows the NetVue server to process each page of multi-page documents independently. The client can cache additional pages while one page is being viewed. This greatly enhances performance, especially for vector-based and PDF documents.

“Upon merging Accusoft and Pegasus, we now offer a variety of image viewing solutions,” says Brian Pageau, systems engineer at Pegasus Imaging. “NetVue is Java-based, and performs all image processing on the server. It provides a full client API that allows network administrators to control client viewers’ looks and capabilities, and also allows them to perform scripted actions. NetVue is easy to implement in your workflow, and meets thin-client document viewing requirements.”

More information, a trial download, and demo can be found at www.accusoft.com/netvue. Please contact a Pegasus representative for details on licensing NetVue.
