AccuSoft Announces Addition of NextGen Healthcare to its Customer Roster and Expanded Relationships with GE Medical Systems and DocSTAR

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – Jan. 13, 2004 – AccuSoft® Corporation, the leading provider of imaging technology, announced today that it has signed NextGen Healthcare as a new customer and has secured significant additional business with both GE Medical Systems and DocSTAR. The three companies utilize AccuSoft’s award-winning imaging products within their respective software applications and devices.

NextGen Healthcare Information Systems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Quality Systems, Inc., and a developer of computer-based practice management and electronic medical records systems for medical practices, has purchased 10,000 ImageGear® MD licenses and 2,500 ImageTransport MD licenses. AccuSoft’s products are being leveraged at the core of NexGen®’s new Image Control System (ICS) offering, providing the scanning, viewing and image manipulation functionality. AccuSoft was selected by NextGen Healthcare based on the functionality its products offer, the pre-sales support it provided, and its reputation in the market for quality.

GE Medical Systems, a $10 billion global leader in medical imaging, point-of-care systems, healthcare services, and information technology -- and AccuSoft customer since 1998 -- has purchased an additional 1,500 ImageTransport MD licenses for use in its DICOM option for its Axial line of densitometers. Used by physicians/radiologists to read bone density studies (specialized x-rays) without a paper output, GE Medical Systems’ DICOM option leverages AccuSoft’s communications software to transfer the image and test results to a PACS (Picture Archiving and Communications System). Hospitals and medical facilities including the Mayo Clinic utilize GE Medical Systems’ DICOM option as part of their digital strategy aimed at reducing costs and improving efficiency. AccuSoft’s ImageTransport MD solution continues to be chosen by GE Medical Systems due to its ease of integration and overall product value.

DocSTAR, a leading provider of document imaging solutions -- and AccuSoft customer since 2000 -- has substantially increased its business with AccuSoft, purchasing an additional 5,000 ImageGear licenses. DocSTAR uses ImageGear within its popular DocSTAR imaging system to display stored document pages (images) with the ability to rapidly zoom and rotate images. The DocSTAR application also uses ImageGear’s annotation capability to add sticky notes, redactions, highlights, and text notes to documents. ImageGear also provides the ability to print and save document images in different file formats, and was chosen by DocSTAR for its overwhelming reliability and speed of operation.
