PDFXPRESS™ LAUNCHED BY PEGASUS IMAGING FOR IMAGE VIEWING APPLICATION DEVELOPERS |
| TAMPA, FL, November 17, 2004 - Pegasus Imaging Corporation, the leader in digital imaging technology, introduces the PDFXpress software development toolkit for full support of Adobe® PDF technology. PDFXpress is delivered as both a managed Microsoft .NET component and COM control. PDFXpress Reader was built using Adobe technology, and views all PDF files that Adobe supports. "Our customer base demands the very best in high quality image file format support," says Casey Muse, program manager at Pegasus Imaging. "We have now delivered the best PDF viewing support available. The Reader edition was necessary as an initial release because not all imaging toolkits currently view all PDF's, and our customers needed better support." PDFXpress customers are able to open PDF files within their own application, without the requirement of an external viewer. Pegasus Imaging also offers a full suite of imaging technologies to easily integrate with PDFXpress, including ImagXpress™ for image processing, scanning, printing, and additional file format support. In addition, forms processing features such as barcode, ICR, OCR, and OMR recognition can be found in the SmartScan Xpress™ line of products. PDFXpress reads single and multi-page PDF files, Native PDF files, and Post Script-based PDF files. It also reads black and white image PDF files encoded to CCITT G3-1D, CCITT G3-2D, CCITT G4, and JBIG2. In addition, it supports color image PDF files encoded to JPEG and JPEG 2000. A Reader edition is being offered in the initial release. A Professional edition delivering both read and write support is coming soon.
