Q1: What is Prizm Content Connect?
Prizm Content Connect is a web-based application with server-side document conversion and caching, which enables users to display any kind of document at a faster speed without downloading anything on their machines. The document viewer uses a combination of XML and JavaScript based AJAX, with sophisticated conversion methodologies to provide fast, on-demand rendering of virtually any kind of document. A unique set of capabilities is included to enrich the document viewing experience and dynamically deliver content.

Q2: Which browsers does Prizm Content Connect work in?
Prizm Content Connect only needs JavaScript enabled and Adobe Flash 9.0 Plugin to work in all modern browser environments.

Q3: What document types are supported?
More than 300 document types can be converted to render in the Prizm Content Connect Viewer clients, including Microsoft Office documents, PDF files, and commonly used image formats. Click Here to view the complete list.

Q4: Can I customize it and add my own brand name and logo?
Yes, there are various options to do so:

If you are using the CloudConnect hosted option, you can personalize the Viewer by adding the Personalization feature. Personalization lets you add your own brand name to the Viewer while maintaining a very low total cost of ownership. The Viewer is hosted in the Cloud, so you just link your documents to our server and you are ready to go.

Prizm Content Connect on-premise products allow you to install the viewer on your own server. Prizm Content Connect integrates easily with your content, project, customer relationship and business process management systems. You can change look and feel, including adding a custom skin and your own logo.

Q5: How much does it cost?
The CloudConnect product is free for non-commercial use. A commercial license costs just $1499 / year. Adding your own brand to either the free or commercial version using the Personalization feature costs just $1099.

Q6: What is the difference between Prizm Content Connect, Prizm Content Connect Plus, and CloudConnect?
CloudConnect lets you enable your users to view documents directly from your server. There's no need to install Prizm Content Connect Server software, just link to us in the Cloud. You maintain your documents on your server and remain in control.

Prizm Content Connect and Prizm Content Connect Plus are on-premise Viewers. On-premise means you install them on your server and then serve your documents through them, thereby allowing your users to view documents in a completely secure environment, behind a firewall or over an internal network.

The Prizm Content Connect on-premise products both include the Zero Footprint Client as a convenient option to allow users to view scanned images including PDF and TIFF files in an optimized super-lightweight viewing environment. This option is perfect for your partners and casual users, whose machines you may not have access to for deployment of the AJAX-based client, or which may not allow 3rd party downloads or plug-ins.

On-premise products also include the Mobile Client as another way to accommodate on-the-go users who have basic viewing requirements. The Mobile client is based on a combination of XML, HTML and JavaScript, and presents images as a .png file for viewing on virtually any mobile device*.

*Certain RIM Blackberry devices, including Bold 9900/9930, Torch 9810, and the Playbook tablet models, contain internal document conversion software, which disables the Mobile Client. You can test the Mobile Client on your device using the interactive online demo.

Q7: Is it secure to link my documents to CloudConnect?
We will not share any of your documents, display them on our website, or store them anywhere in the CloudConnect server. Anyone with the document link can view the document. You fully control distribution, placement, and maintenance of the document links.

Q8: What is the maximum file size I can convert?
There is no limit on file or page size, but keep in mind that larger files might take more time to load, based on Internet speed, network traffic, and available bandwidth.

Q9: Why can't I upload my document on to your server and share the link with others?
We do not provide a document hosting service at this time.

Q10: Will users be able to print my document with Prizm Content Connect?
That is up to you. By default, printing is fully enabled; however, Prizm Content Connect on-premise products include Digital Rights Management capabilities that allow you to toggle print, save, copy text, and download capabilities off for users or documents, creating read-only documents.

Q11: What technology does Prizm Content Connect use?
Prizm Content Connect uses combinations of Flash/Flex, AJAX, JavaScript, HTML and CSS to build distributed, scalable, web-based thin clients for a range of viewing applications and uses.

Q12: How can Prizm Content Connect help my organization?
PPrizm Content Connect provides significant time and cost savings by allowing you to view various content formats using a single user interface. The file integrity remains intact and the look and feel is not compromised. Your users will be more productive without having to switch between applications to view all of the documents in their workflow, and will not require expensive file format specific software installed on their individual machines.

Q13: Can Prizm Content Connect be used with other software?
Yes, organizations are already using Prizm Content Connect as an integrated viewing component within their content (CMS), project management, customer relationship (CRM), and business process management (BPM) applications. Prizm Content Connect can be integrated with almost any internet- based business application, to provide a standardized, thin-client Viewer interface.

Q14: Do I Need a Specific OS or Server Environment?
