Accusoft’s Annual Internship Programs Provide Benefits to Students & Employees

Nineteen interns walked the Accusoft halls this summer. Some learned about HR and marketing, while others got their hands dirty learning the ins and outs of development with our engineers. Every year, we learn with each other to share our ideas and empower our young people.

While many organizations offer internship programs, Accusoft is a little different. We offer two programs to students including the Employee Dependent Internship Program (EDIP) and the Summer Professional Internship Program (SPIP).

On-the-Job Experience for Dependents of Employees

As a benefit of working at Accusoft, employees can apply for their dependents to work as an intern with the department of their choice. This opportunity enables employees to ensure their dependent has a head start learning about different career paths and opportunities in the business world.

The EDIP is a six week program designed to offer participants with little to no previous training a positive work experience within a professional environment. Interns are mentored by Accusoft professionals and learn more about what we do. Students must be a dependent of an Accusoft employee, age 16 or older.

Professional Experience for College Students

Along with most companies in the area, Accusoft also offers a professional internship for those students working toward a degree. The SPIP is a 12 week program designed to offer professional work experience to students, age 16 years or older, who are currently enrolled in a college or university degree program in areas such as computer science, computer engineering, information systems, accounting, finance, marketing, and HR.

Some of these interns have applied for our co-op program. Historically, some interns have been able to continue their part-time, paid internship throughout the remainder of their schooling in order to secure a full-time position upon graduation. Since our internship co-op began, Accusoft has hired 12 interns. This equates to an average of four per year.

Partnering with Florida Polytechnic University

Accusoft’s CEO, Jack Berlin, has a strong commitment to innovation and growth in the Tampa Bay area. In addition to an endowed scholarship to help talented students with financial need to pursue a career in high-tech, Accusoft also offers internship opportunities to students studying software engineering at Florida Polytechnic. In fact, four former interns from the university are now full-time employees.

“We are extremely grateful to Accusoft for their continued commitment to Florida Poly,” said Kevin Aspegren, the university’s Vice President of Advancement. “Our students are benefitting from life-changing opportunities there through internships and full-time positions. This is an example of how critical industry partnerships are to the success of Florida Poly and the area’s economy.”

Every year, Accusoft works with the best and brightest from Tampa Bay’s colleges and universities. In 2019, we hosted 10 HR, SaaS, and marketing interns with our summer EDIP program. In addition, nine more interned with the SDK, SaaS, QA, PrizmDoc, customer support, IS, and IT teams in our SPIP.

Keep a lookout for our open opportunities next year. Until then, check out our careers page to learn more about Accusoft culture and our current open positions. We are always looking to hire bright, new minds on our team.
