The following annotation types are included:
|
- Text box – fully customizable sticky notes (font, size, color)
- Pop-up Note – space-saving note icon with text underneath
- Highlight – similar to yellow highlighter, but any color
- Lines and Arrows – draw attention to important info
- Rectangles and Ellipses – with adjustable color, line width, transparency, etc.
- Polygon and Polyline – any shape solid or line
- Rubber Stamp – including automatic date
- Freehand

Annotations support the following features:
|
- The same annotations can be used with all document types (i.e. TIFF, PDF, CAD, and JPEG).
- Annotations can be shared for document collaboration.
- May be saved locally, or over the Web
(ask your Network Adminstrator about the optional Prizm Annotation Server)
- Annotations may be exported in native TIFF or PDF format, burned into the original image, saved to a separate local file, or saved to the Prizm Annotation Server.
- Support Unicode text (Asian, Arabic characters)
- Associated notes can be attached to all annotation types

- Anti-aliasing automatically improves bitonal image display
- Color smoothing evens out the “blockiness” that often occurs with highly-magnified or over-compressed color images
- Image display options include:
- Unicode support for thumbnail descriptors
- Set Initial View Display
- Set Initial Display rotation
- Mirror horizontal and/or vertical
- Preserve Lines when scaling
- Invert colors
- Color smoothing
- Patented enhanced JPEG decoding
- Brightness and Contrast Adjustments
- Maintain scaling, position and orientation when paging

- Apply print options to bitonal, color, PDF, and CAD images independently
- Include or omit annotations in print
- Specify up to 3 lines of header and footer text to be printed.
Macro support allows auto-insertion of print date, time, and other variables
- Specify poster printing options for large format images including shrink instructions, overlap settings, minimum size for poster printing, order of pages
- Permit auto-orient when different orientation saves paper on printed images

Prizm Viewer can efficiently serve different departments with different viewing needs.

- Defaults can be set during installation, by live Web content, and at the user level
- Control file associations (which image types open with Prizm Viewer)
- Set annotation sources, annotation display, and more
- Configure default annotation settings - colors, fonts, border colors and widths, fill styles, stamp text, etc.
- Apply viewing preferences - full image, full width, inverted, rotated, etc. - for bitonal, color, PDF, and CAD images independently
- Set default mouse button action: Zoom selection, Hand pan, Flying magnifier, or annotation
- Set flying magnifier size and magnification factor
- Set availability of Docking Windows
- Customize all Toolbar buttons and locations
